In 2008 the Liverpool Humanist Group decided to expand its remit from simply discussing and campaigning on issues, to attempting to raise some money to directly further humanist principles. Since then, the LHG’s nominated charity has been the Mustard Seed Secular School in Bustoga, Uganda, which is a secondary school run on the humanist principles of free enquiry and rationalism. Throughout the year we hold events to raise money for this charity, and to date we have raised more than £500.
